Vampire Killer

Vampire Killer came out only in Japan and Europe on the MSX home computer system. It was quite different than the CastleVania you probably know. Just some differences, the money bags actually did something other than upping your score (Yeah, you could shields, keys, sub-weapons, etc. by whipping and random merchants you find hiding inside walls...I couldn't make this up if I tried.), the game went screen-by-screen, and a few other minor differences. One thing that is somewhat similar is the music, so let's on with that.

Track 01: Prologue (Intro)
The traditional "castle-entering" theme. Doesn't really differ from it's NES counterpart.

Track 02: Vampire Killer (Stage 1: The Entrance)
Everyone knows this one! May sound the same as it does on the NES, but if you listen closely, it's faster at some parts, and slower at others. Still, it's an excellent song.

Track 03: Stalker (Stage 2: Castle Wall)
Not as good as the NES version if you ask me. Maybe it's because it's lacking a lot of the percussion, which made it sound a lot livelier.

Track 04: Wicked Child
(Stage 3: Castle Ruins)
OK, this is a weird version. For one, it doesn't have the little beginning that's in the other version, there's very little percussion in the chorus, and about a quarter through, I hear what sounds like Simon grunting for some reason.

Track 05: Walking on the Edge (Stage 4: The Catacombs)
An OK version, beginning sounds a bit dull, and there's that Simon grunting noise again.

Track 06: Heart of Fire (Stage 5: The Dungeon)
Pretty good version. But why is there no percussion?!

Track 07: Out of Time
(Stage 6: The Castle Keep)
Foot-tappingly good! I absolutely love this version, it's just so lively and fast paced!

Track 08: Nothing to Lose
(Stage 6: Before the Dracula fight)
An eerie little tune that plays before the Dracula fight.

Track 09: Black Knight
(Stage 6: Dracula's Final Form)
A percussionless tune that plays during Dracula's final form.

Track 10: All Clear
(Dracula's Defeat)
Short tune that plays after Dracula is defeated.

Track 11: Ending (Ending)
A funky tune that plays during the ending.

-Other Music-

-Additional/Misc. Tracks-
Track 12: Poison Mind (Boss Music)
A creepy song that plays during all the boss fights.

Track 13: Stage Clear (After a boss is defeated)
A neat, quick little tune that plays after a boss is defeated.

Track 14: Player Miss (When Simon dies)
It's the traditional 8-bit CV death sound.Get used to it, VK is a hard game.

Track 15: Gamer Over (Game Over screen)
The track that plays when you run out of continues. :(

-Fan Songs-
None that I know of, since the VK tracks are nearly identical the CastleVania's.

Alright, I'll try and get the Akomajou Dracula/Castlevania page up either tonight or tomorrow.
